The Lord is not late concerning his promise, as some count lateness, but is patient with us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Speak unto the sons of Israel and bid them that they make for themselves fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue. And it shall be unto you for a fringe that ye may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the LORD and do them and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, seeking after which ye fornicate. But bring to memory the former days, in which, after ye received the light, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; on the one hand ye were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and on the other ye became companions of those that were so used. For ye had compassion of me in my bonds and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing that in yourselves ye have a better substance in the heavens, and that abides.read more.
Do not lose, therefore, this your confidence, which has great recompense of reward; for patience is necessary, so that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
