During these days, when the disciples were increasing in number, the Hellenists began to complain against the Hebrews, on the ground that their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.
So when the first labourers came up, they supposed they would get more; but they too got each their shilling. And on getting it they grumbled at the householder.
Fathers, avoid irritating your children, in case they get dispirited.

Those who are eager to be rich get tempted and trapped in many senseless and pernicious propensities that drag men down to ruin and destruction. For love of money is the root of all mischief; it is by aspiring to be rich that certain individuals have gone astray from the faith and found themselves pierced with many a pang of remorse.
Keep your life free from the love of money; be content with what you have, for He has said, Never will I fail you, never will I forsake you.
