By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness. Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
