21 Bible Verses about Sadness

Sorrow is better than laughter, for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made glad.

Heaviness in the heart of a man makes it droop, but a good word makes it glad.

The light of the eyes rejoices the heart. Good news make the bones fat.

A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul. Let him drink, and forget his need, and remember his misery no more.
