In like manner also, as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; but in the day in which Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day in which the Son of man is revealed.
"Watch, therefore, for you know not at what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, That if the master of the house had known at what watch the thief comes, he would have watched, and would not have permitted his house to be broken open. For this reason, be you also ready; for at an hour in which you think not, the Son of man comes.
for you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night: for when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as the pains of birth upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, and the earth, and the works that are on it, shall be burned up.
Behold, I come as a thief: blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, that he may not walk naked, and that men may not see his nakedness.
He also will establish you even to the end, and make you blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
