And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness comprehends it not.

and I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall take them out of my hand. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to take them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.

and he said to me: My grace is sufficient for you; for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, will I boast in my infirmities, that the power of the Christ may abide upon me.

who are kept secure by the power of God through faith, to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time:

Now the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calls you; and he will do what he has promised.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you, and keep you from the evil one.

No trial has come upon you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tried more than you are able to bear; but he will, with the trial, make a way to escape, so that you be able to bear up under it.

Because you have kept the word of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of trial that is about to come on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
