When an iron is blunt, and the point not sharpened, it must be whet again, and that with might. Even so doth wisdom follow diligence.
And therefore must all Israel go down to the Philistines, to mend every man his share, his mattock, his axe or his sickle:
If I whet the lightning of my sword, and mine hand take in hand to do justice, I will show vengeance on mine enemies and will reward them that hate me.
If a man will not turn, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow and made it ready.
