slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desire and despise authority. Bold and willful, they are not afraid to revile the glorious ones,

Also he told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall into the same condemnation as the devil.

Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with everything to enjoy.

As she glorified herself and played the wanton, so give her a like measure of torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, 'A queen I sit, and I am not a widow, mourning I will never see.' Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.

Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that in us you may learn not to go beyond what is written, so that no one of you will become arrogant in favor of one against the other. For who regards you as different? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

When he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and returned to his place, he said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.read more.
