And passing along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customhouse; and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

And it came to pass in those days that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be registered. (This registering was the first made while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be registered, each to his own city.
