So I find it to be a law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law, at war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin which dwells in my members.
For speaking out arrogant words of vanity, they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error.
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him.

For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself does not tempt anyone.
And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.'"
