Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against your soul.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'

And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.'"

Watch and pray, so that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man. And God is faithful, who will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

I am speaking in human terms, because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you once yielded your members to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now yield your members to righteousness for holiness.

Abstain from every form of evil.

but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; because it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
