And as Jesus was sitting over against the treasury, He saw how the people threw money into the treasury, and many of the rich put in much; and there came a poor widow and put in two mites, that is, a farthing. And He called his disciples to Him, and saith unto them, Verily I tell you, that this poor widow has given more than all those who have cast into the treasury.read more.
For they all have contributed out of their abundance: but she out of her penury hath given all that she had, even her whole living.

for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which ye have heard before in the word of truth, that is the gospel;
As to what remains, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me in that day: and not to me only, but also to all those who have longed for his appearance.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy hath regenerated us to a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupts, and where thieves break through and steal:
And He said unto them, See to it that ye beware of covetousness; for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of his possessions. And He spake a parable to them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: and he reasoned within himself, saying, What shall I do? for I have not room to lay up my corn.read more.
And he said, This I will do: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there I will bestow all my products and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast plenty of goods laid up for many years, take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night shall thy soul be required of thee; then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided? So is he that heapeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich towards God.
And another came, and said, Behold, my Lord, thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: for I was afraid of thee, because thou art an austere man, who takest up what thou didst not lay down, and reapest what thou didst not sow. But he said to him, Out of thy own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant, Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow;read more.
and why then didst thou not put my money into the bank, that when I came I might have received it with interest?
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Jesus replied, If thou wouldst be perfect, go, sell thy estate, and give it to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me.
Sell what ye have, and give alms: provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a never-failing treasure in the heavens, where no thief approacheth nor moth corrupteth: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Charge them, that are rich in this world, not to be high-minded nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who richly affords us all things for enjoyment: charge them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to distribute, willing to communicate; treasuring up to themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may obtain eternal life.
But by thy hardness and impenitence of heart thou art treasuring up to thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the just judgement of God,
But the heavens and the earth, that now are, by the same Word are kept in store, reserved unto fire on the day of judgement and destruction of ungodly men.
These are wells without water, clouds driven by a storm, for whom thick darkness is reserved for ever.
