And the soldiers also were mocking Him, coming near, and offering Him vinegar, and saying, "If Thou art the King of the Jews, save Thyself!"
After these things Jesus, knowing that all things have now been finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, saith, "I thirst." There was set there a vessel full of vinegar; so, putting a sponge full of vinegar on hyssop, they bore it to His mouth. When, therefore, Jesus received the vinegar, He said, "It has been finished;" and, bowing His head, He delivered up His spirit.
