And they said, Some, John the Baptist; but some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
And they answered him, saying, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others, One of the prophets.
And Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was taking place, and was perplexed; because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead; and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets had risen.
And they answering said, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets hath risen.
and said to his servants, This is John the Baptist; he hath risen from the dead, and therefore do these powers work in him.
And king Herod heard of him (for his name was spread abroad), and he said, John the Baptizer hath risen from the dead, and therefore do these powers work in him. But others said, It is Elijah.
And the multitudes said, This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judah, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they took offence at him.
Is not this the carpenters son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas?
And they all spoke in his praise, and wondered at the words of grace which proceeded from his mouth; and they said, Is not this Josephs son?
and they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, one whose father and mother we know? How is it then that this man saith, I have come down from heaven?
Jesus therefore came forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And [Pilate] saith to them, Behold the man!
The men therefore seeing the sign which he wrought, said, This is truly the prophet that was to come into the world.
All things were delivered to me by my Father; and no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom it is the will of the Son to reveal him.
Jesus answered and said to her, If thou hadst known the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
