Jesus answered him. "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man ever comes to the Father but by me.
"If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.
That is why God has given them up to passions of dishonor; for on the one hand their women actually changed the natural function of sex into that which is against nature; and on the other hand their men likewise abandoned the natural use of women, and were ablaze with passion for one another; men with men practising shameless acts and receiving in their own person that recompense of their wrong-doing which necessarily followed.
It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and such immorality as is not even among the heathen??hat a man has taken his father's wife!
Every one should be in the higher authorities; for there is no authority apart from God. The authorities that now exist have been appointed by God.
"Caesar's," they answered. Then he said to them, "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's."
And Jesus said, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God, the things that are God's." They were amazed at him.
"Then give to Caesar what belongs to him," he said, "to God give what is God's."
"You would have no power over me," answered Jesus, "unless it had been given you from above. For this reason he who has betrayed me to you has the greater sin."
Therefore the man who rebels against authority is opposing the divine ordinances; and those who withstand will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are no terror to good deeds, but to evil. Would you be fearless of the ruler's authority? Do what is good, and you will have his praise. For the ruler is God's minister appointed for your good. But if you are a wrong-doer, be afraid; he does not carry the sword to no purpose; he is God's servant, appointed to vengeance upon the guilty.read more.
Wherefore you must needs be in subjection, not only because of fear, but also for conscience sake.
Submit yourselves, for the Lord's sake, to every human authority; whether it be to the Emperor as supreme ruler, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evil-doers and for the encouragement of well-doers.
What soldier ever serves at his own expense? What farmer ever plants a vineyard and his flock and does not taste the milk?
Be not deceived. God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, that will he also reap.
