'Ask' in the Bible

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Violent witnesses rise up, That which I have not known they ask me.

You do not delight in sacrifice and offering;You open my ears to listen.You do not ask for a whole burnt offering or a sin offering.

My enemies ask this cruel question about me, 'When will he finally die and be forgotten?'

My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"

I will ask God, my Rock, "Why have you forsaken me? Why do I go around mourning under the enemy's oppression?"

Ask ye the peace of Jerusalem, At rest are those loving thee.

Lord, listen to my voice; let your ears pay attention to what I ask of you!

for there our captors ask us to compose songs; those who mock us demand that we be happy, saying: "Sing for us a song about Zion!"

I cry with my voice to Yahweh. With my voice, I ask Yahweh for mercy.
