'Beatings' in the Bible

A fool's lips come into strife, and his mouth invites beatings.

Judgments are prepared for mockers,and beatings for the backs of fools. >

Lashes and wounds purge away evil,and beatings cleanse the innermost parts. >

Why do you want more beatings?Why do you keep on rebelling?The whole head is hurt,and the whole heart is sick.

by beatings, by imprisonments,by riots, by labors,by sleepless nights, by times of hunger,

Are they servants of Christ?I’m talking like a madman—I’m a better one:with far more labors,many more imprisonments,far worse beatings, near death many times.
