'Darkest' in the Bible

Even when I go through the darkest valley,I fear no danger,for You are with me;Your rod and Your staff—they comfort me.

Though you have let us be crushed in the place of jackals, though we are covered with darkest shade.

You have put me in the lowest part of the Pit,in the darkest places, in the depths.
