'Divided' in the Bible

And to Eber two sons were born. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and the name of his brother [was] Joktan.

And he divided [his trained men] against them at night, he and his servants. And he defeated them and pursued them to Hobah, which [is] north of Damascus.

And Yahweh said to her, "Two nations [are] in your womb, and two peoples {from birth} shall be divided. And {one people shall be stronger than the other}. And [the] elder shall serve [the] younger."

Then Jacob was very frightened and distressed. So he divided the people, flocks, cattle, and camels that [were] with him into two companies.

And Jacob lifted up his eyes and looked. And behold, Esau [was] coming and four hundred men [were] with him. And he divided the children among Leah and among Rachel, and among the two of his female servants.

And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and Yahweh moved the sea with a strong east wind all night, and he made the sea [become] dry ground, and the waters were divided.

Any among the animals that has a divided hoof and has a split cleft in [the] hoof, such you may eat.

However, these you may not eat from those that chew the cud and from those that have a divided hoof: the camel, because it [is] a chewer of cud but it does not have a hoof that is divided--it [is] unclean for you;

and the coney, because it [is] a chewer of cud but it does not have a hoof that is divided--it [is] unclean for you;

and the hare, because it [is] a chewer of cud but it does not have a hoof that is divided--it [is] unclean for you;

and the pig, because it has a divided hoof and has a split cleft in the hoof but it does not chew cud--it [is] unclean for you.

" '[With regard] to any animal that has a divided hoof but does not split the hoof, or does not have a cud [for] chewing--they [are] unclean for you; anyone who touches them shall become unclean.

"For these the land must be divided as an inheritance according to the number of names.

Surely the land will be divided by lot. They will inherit according to the names of the tribes of their ancestors.

{Their} inheritance must be divided according to the lot between the larger and smaller [groups]."

From the half of the {Israelites}, which Moses divided from the men who were fighting,

and Joshua cast a lot for them at Shiloh before Yahweh, and there he divided the land for the {Israelites}, {to each a portion}.

He divided the three hundred men [into] three companies, and he put trumpets and empty jars in everyone's hand, with torches inside the jars.

" 'Peres'--your kingdom has been divided and given to [the] Medes and Persians.'"

But {as he rises in power}, his kingdom will be divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, and not according to his dominion [by] which he ruled, for his kingdom will be uprooted and [be given] {to others besides them}.

I will gather all the nations, and I will bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat, and I will argue {a case against them} there concerning my people and my inheritance Israel whom they have scattered among the nations, and my land [that] they have divided.

Therefore, thus says Yahweh, 'Your wife will become a prostitute in the city and your sons and your daughters will fall by the sword and your land will be divided with a line, and you will die in an unclean land and Israel will surely go into exile from this land.'"

Look! A day [is] coming for Yahweh, when your plunder will be divided in your midst.
