'House' in the Bible

All this will happen because of Jacob’s rebellionand the sins of the house of Israel.What is the rebellion of Jacob?Isn’t it Samaria?And what is the high place of Judah?Isn’t it Jerusalem?

House of Jacob, should it be asked,“Is the Spirit of the Lord impatient?Are these the things He does?”Don’t My words bring goodto the one who walks uprightly?

Then I said, “Now listen, leaders of Jacob,you rulers of the house of Israel.Aren’t you supposed to know what is just?

Listen to this, leaders of the house of Jacob,you rulers of the house of Israel,who abhor justiceand pervert everything that is right,

In the last daysthe mountain of the Lord’s housewill be establishedat the top of the mountainsand will be raised above the hills.Peoples will stream to it,

and many nations will come and say,“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,to the house of the God of Jacob.He will teach us about His waysso we may walk in His paths.”For instruction will go out of Zionand the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Are there still the treasures of wickednessand the accursed short measurein the house of the wicked?

The statutes of Omriand all the practices of Ahab’s househave been observed;you have followed their policies.Therefore, I will make you a desolate placeand the city’s residents an object of contempt;you will bear the scorn of My people.”
