'Lesson' in the Bible
He took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briars, and with them he punished the men of Succoth.
The men of the garrison called to Jonathan and his armor-bearer. “Come on up, and we’ll teach you a lesson!” they said.“Follow me,” Jonathan told his armor-bearer, “for the Lord has handed them over to Israel.”
You made us an object lesson among the nations; people shake their heads at us.
