'Lives' in the Bible
God also told Noah, "This is the symbol of the covenant that I've established between me and everything that lives on the earth."
Then one of them said, "Flee for your lives! Don't look back or stop anywhere on the plain. Escape to the hills, or you'll be swept away!"
so Pharaoh asked his servants, "Can we find anyone else like this someone in whom the Spirit of God lives?
One of you is to be sent back so he can get your brother while the rest of you remain in custody. That way, we'll test whether or not you're telling the truth. If you're not, as surely as the Pharaoh lives, you're spies!"
"You've saved our lives," they replied. "If it pleases you, your Excellency, we'll be Pharaoh's slaves."
