'Mud' in the Bible
He answered, “The man called Jesus made mud, spread it on my eyes, and told me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So when I went and washed I received my sight.”
The day that Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes was a Sabbath.
So again the Pharisees asked him how he received his sight.“He put mud on my eyes,” he told them. “I washed and I can see.”
Then my enemy will see,and she will be covered with shame,the one who said to me,“Where is the Lord your God?”My eyes will look at her in triumph;at that time she will be trampledlike mud in the streets.
It has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to its own vomit, and, “a sow, after washing itself, wallows in the mud.”
After He said these things He spit on the ground, made some mud from the saliva, and spread the mud on his eyes.
I'm sending my fury against a godless nation, and I'll command him against the people with whom I'm angry to seize loot and snatch plunder, and to trample them down like mud in the streets.
they will be like warriors in battletrampling down the mud of the streets.They will fight because the Lord is with them,and they will put horsemen to shame.
Draw yourselves water for a siege! Strengthen your fortifications! Trample the mud and tread the clay! Make mud bricks to strengthen your walls!
"Tyre built itself a fortification, hoarding silver like dust and pure gold like mud in a street.
And He doth cause me to come up From a pit of desolation -- from mire of mud, And He raiseth up on a rock my feet, He is establishing my steps.
then You dip me in a pit of mud,and my own clothes despise me!
But the wicked are tossed like the sea; for it is not able to keep still, and its waters toss up mire and mud.
So they took Jeremiah and dropped him into the cistern of Malchiah the king’s son, which was in the guard’s courtyard, lowering Jeremiah with ropes. There was no water in the cistern, only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.
He throws me into the mud,and I have become like dust and ashes.
His undersides are jagged potsherds,spreading the mud like a threshing sledge.
“I have raised up one from the north, and he has come,one from the east who invokes My name.He will march over rulers as if they were mud,like a potter who treads the clay.
Blessed (happy, fortunate) are you who cast your seed upon all waters [when the river overflows its banks and irrigates the land],You who allow the ox and the donkey to roam freely.
I have sunk in deep mud, and there is no footing;I have come into deep waters,and a flood sweeps over me.
I pulverize them like dust of the earth;I crush them and trample them like mud in the streets.
Rescue me from the miry mud; don’t let me sink.Let me be rescued from those who hate meand from the deep waters.
All the women who are left in the royal palace of Judah will be led out to the officers of the king of Babylon. They will taunt you saying, 'Your trusted friends misled you; they have gotten the best of you. Now that your feet are stuck in the mud, they have turned their backs on you.'
I pulverize them like dust before the wind;I trample them like mud in the streets.
And my flock must graze the [pasture] treaded upon by your feet, and must drink the mud puddle [stirred up] by your feet."
