'Profane' in the Bible

Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

And the voice came to him a second time, “What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, no longer consider common (unholy).”

But the voice from heaven answered a second time, ‘What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, no longer consider common (unholy).’

Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor [being available for God’s purpose and separated from things profane],

How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

For certain people have crept in unnoticed [just as if they were sneaking in by a side door]. Nothing profane will ever enter it: no one who does what is vile or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.
