'Puffed' in the Bible
You claim you've defeated Edom, but you're really only puffed up with arrogant boasting. So stay home. Why stir up trouble so you die, and the rest of Judah with you?"
He that is puffed up in soul exciteth contention; but he that relieth upon Jehovah shall be made fat.
Be not [morbidly exacting and externally] righteous overmuch, neither strive to make yourself [pretentiously appear] overwise -- "why should you [get puffed up and] destroy yourself [with presumptuous self-sufficiency]?
I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers, nor did I become puffed up by reason of thy prophecy; I sat alone because thou hast filled me with indignation.
