'Read' in the Bible
So he said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those with him,
Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple violate the sanctity of the Sabbath and are guiltless?
And he answered [and] said, "Have you not read that the one who created [them] from the beginning made them male and female
And they said to him, "Do you hear what these [children] are saying?" So Jesus said to them, "Yes, have you never read, 'Out of the mouths of children and nursing babies you have prepared for yourself praise'?"
Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, this has become {the cornerstone}. This came about from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?
Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, who said,
And he said to them, "Have you never read what David did when he had need and he and those [who were] with him were hungry--
Have you not read this scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected, this has become {the cornerstone}.
Now concerning the dead, that they are raised, have you not read in the book of Moses {in the passage about the bush} how God spoke to him, saying, 'I [am] the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob'?
And he came to Nazareth, where {he had been brought up}, and according to {his custom} he entered into the synagogue on the day of the Sabbath and stood up to read.
And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Have you not read this, what David did when he and those [who were] with him were hungry--
And he said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read [it]?"
So many of the Jews read this notice, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city. And it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, [and] in Greek.
For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, [because they] did not recognize this one, and the voices of the prophets that are read on every Sabbath, fulfilled [them] [by] condemning [him].
For Moses has those who proclaim him in every city from ancient generations, [because he] is read aloud in the synagogues on every Sabbath."
And [when they] read [it] aloud, they rejoiced at the encouragement.
For we are not writing [anything] else to you except what you can read or also understand. But I hope that you will understand {completely},
You are our letter, inscribed on our hearts, known and read by all people,
But until today, whenever Moses is read aloud, a veil lies upon their heart,
so that you may be able when you read to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ
And whenever this letter is read among you, {see to it} that it is read also among the Laodicean church, and that you also read the [letter] from Laodicea.
I adjure you by the Lord, have this letter read aloud to all the brothers.
