'Shuts' in the Bible
So the poor have hope,and injustice shuts its mouth.
The upright see it and rejoice,and all injustice shuts its mouth.
The one who shuts his ears to the cry of the poorwill himself also call out and not be answered.
The one who lives righteouslyand speaks rightly,who refuses gain from extortion,whose hand never takes a bribe,who stops his ears from listening to murderous plotsand shuts his eyes to avoid endorsing evil—
once the homeowner gets up and shuts the door. Then you will stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up for us!’ He will answer you, ‘I don’t know you or where you’re from.’
If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need but closes his eyes to his need—how can God’s love reside in him?
