16 Bible Verses about Unkindness

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

"But I say to you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?

Then the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?

Then he said to them, "Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?"

Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

"Then he will say to those on his left hand, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not take me in, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.'

And he sent messengers on ahead, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him; but the people did not receive him, because his face was set for Jerusalem.

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

yet he did not leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness."

Or do you presume upon the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not know that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

Therefore consider the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who fell, but kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off.

so that in the coming ages he might show the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
