'Testing' in the Bible

Recognizing their wickedness, Jesus asked, "Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?

Seeing through their hypocrisy, Jesus replied to them, "Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius and let me look at it."

The ones on the stony ground are the people who joyfully welcome the word when they hear it. But since they don't have any roots, they believe for a while, but in a time of testing they fall away.

I am not commanding you but testing the genuineness of your love by the enthusiasm of others.

do not harden your hearts as they did when they provoked me during the time of testing in the wilderness.

because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

Because you have obeyed my command to endure, I will keep you from the hour of testing that is coming to the whole world to test those living on the earth.
