'Three' in the Bible
And when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of the three men his anger burned.
He had seven sons and three daughters.
The leech has two daughters,“Give,” “Give.”There are three things that will not be satisfied,Four that will not say, “Enough”:
There are three things which are too wonderful for me,Four which I do not understand:
Under three things the earth quakes,And under four, it cannot bear up:

And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.
But now the Lord speaks, saying, “Within three years, as a hired man would count them, the glory of Moab will be degraded along with all his great population, and his remnant will be very small and impotent.”
Yet gleanings will be left in it like the shaking of an olive tree,Two or three olives on the topmost bough,Four or five on the branches of a fruitful tree,Declares the Lord, the God of Israel.
And the Lord said, “Even as My servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot three years as a sign and token against Egypt and Cush,

The altar was of wood, three cubits high and its length two cubits; its corners, its base and its sides were of wood. And he said to me, “This is the table that is before the Lord.”
Opposite the twenty cubits which belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement which belonged to the outer court, was gallery corresponding to gallery in three stories.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, “Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?” They replied to the king, “Certainly, O king.”
and over them three commissioners (of whom Daniel was one), that these satraps might be accountable to them, and that the king might not suffer loss.
Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.
Then they answered and spoke before the king, “Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or to the injunction which you signed, but keeps making his petition three times a day.”
And behold, another beast, a second one, resembling a bear. And it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth; and thus they said to it, ‘Arise, devour much meat!’
While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.

Thus says the Lord,“For three transgressions of Edom and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because he pursued his brother with the sword,While he stifled his compassion;His anger also tore continually,And he maintained his fury forever.
Thus says the Lord,“For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because they ripped open the pregnant women of GileadIn order to enlarge their borders.
Thus says the Lord,“For three transgressions of Moab and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
Thus says the Lord,“For three transgressions of Judah and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because they rejected the law of the LordAnd have not kept His statutes;Their lies also have led them astray,Those after which their fathers walked.
Thus says the Lord,“For three transgressions of Israel and for fourI will not revoke its punishment,Because they sell the righteous for moneyAnd the needy for a pair of sandals.
“Enter Bethel and transgress;In Gilgal multiply transgression!Bring your sacrifices every morning,Your tithes every three days.
“Furthermore, I withheld the rain from youWhile there were still three months until harvest.Then I would send rain on one cityAnd on another city I would not send rain;One part would be rained on,While the part not rained on would dry up.
“So two or three cities would stagger to another city to drink water,But would not be satisfied;Yet you have not returned to Me,” declares the Lord.
And the Lord appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the stomach of the fish three days and three nights.
So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three days’ walk.
Then I annihilated the three shepherds in one month, for my soul was impatient with them, and their soul also was weary of me.
for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
He spoke another parable to them, “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.”
And Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, “I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.”
Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed.
For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”
Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
and said, “This man stated, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’”
And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, “Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.
and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”
and said, “Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I am to rise again.’
“I feel compassion for the people because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat.
And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Peter *said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
For He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later.”
They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again.”
For this perfume might have been sold for over three hundred denarii, and the money given to the poor.” And they were scolding her.
And Jesus *said to him, “Truly I say to you, that this very night, before a rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times.”
“We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”
Immediately a rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had made the remark to him, “Before a rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And he began to weep.
Those passing by were hurling abuse at Him, wagging their heads, and saying, “Ha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,
And Mary stayed with her about three months, and then returned to her home.
Then, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.
But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land;
And as these were leaving Him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not realizing what he was saying.
Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?”
Then He said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves;
for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.
And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’
It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.”
And He said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.”
The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
The Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”
Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they *saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened.
“Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to poor people?”
Jesus *answered, “Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times.
So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
Now there elapsed an interval of about three hours, and his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.
It was at this time that Moses was born; and he was lovely in the sight of God, and he was nurtured three months in his father’s home.
And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.
While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.
This happened three times, and everything was drawn back up into the sky.
