'Away' in the Bible
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Here is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
But the man who was cured did not know who it was, because Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
Therefore Jesus said to the Twelve, “You don’t want to go away too, do you?”
Then He said to them again, “I’m going away; you will look for Me, and you will die in your sin. Where I’m going, you cannot come.”
They will never follow a stranger; instead they will run away from him, because they don’t recognize the voice of strangers.”
The hired man, since he is not the shepherd and doesn’t own the sheep, leaves them and runs away when he sees a wolf coming. The wolf then snatches and scatters them.
While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become sons of light.” Jesus said this, then went away and hid from them.
In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you.
If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.
You have heard Me tell you, ‘I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.
On the contrary, I am going away so that the world may know that I love the Father. Just as the Father commanded Me, so I do.“Get up; let’s leave this place.
“But now I am going away to Him who sent Me, and not one of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’
Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to you.
But they shouted, “Take Him away! Take Him away! Crucify Him!”Pilate said to them, “Should I crucify your king?”“We have no king but Caesar!” the chief priests answered.
So then, because of them, he handed Him over to be crucified.Therefore they took Jesus away.
Since it was the preparation day, the Jews did not want the bodies to remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special day). They requested that Pilate have the men’s legs broken and that their bodies be taken away.
After this, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus—but secretly because of his fear of the Jews—asked Pilate that he might remove Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission, so he came and took His body away.
They said to her, “Woman, why are you crying?”“Because they’ve taken away my Lord,” she told them, “and I don’t know where they’ve put Him.”
“Woman,” Jesus said to her, “why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”Supposing He was the gardener, she replied, “Sir, if you’ve removed Him, tell me where you’ve put Him, and I will take Him away.”
But since they were not far from land (about 100 yards away), the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish.
