'Broke' in the Bible

Out of the brightness before Him passed His thick clouds,Hailstones and coals of fire.

And now all the carved work [of the meeting place]They smash with hatchets and hammers.

You divided the [Red] Sea by Your strength;You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.

There He broke the flaming arrows,The shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah.

He struck their vines also and their fig trees,And shattered the [ice-laden] trees of their territory.

And a fire broke out in their company;The flame consumed the wicked.

Thus they provoked Him to anger with their practices,And a plague broke out among them.

He brought them out of darkness and the deep (deathly) darknessAnd broke their bonds apart.
