'Died' in the Bible
So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died.
So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died.
So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years, and he died.
So all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years, and he died.
So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years, and he died.
So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years, and he died.
So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.
So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died.
of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.
So all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.
Haran died in the presence of his father Terah in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldeans.
The days of Terah were two hundred and five years; and Terah died in Haran.
Sarah died in Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan; and Abraham went in to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.
Abraham breathed his last and died in a ripe old age, an old man and satisfied with life; and he was gathered to his people.
These are the years of the life of Ishmael, one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.
Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the oak; it was named Allon-bacuth.
It came about as her soul was departing (for she died), that she named him Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin.
So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).
Isaac breathed his last and died and was gathered to his people, an old man of ripe age; and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
Then Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah became king in his place.
Then Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites became king in his place.
Then Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the field of Moab, became king in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.
Then Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah became king in his place.
Then Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth on the Euphrates River became king in his place.
Then Shaul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor became king in his place.
Then Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar became king in his place; and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.
Now after a considerable time Shua’s daughter, the wife of Judah, died; and when the time of mourning was ended, Judah went up to his sheepshearers at Timnah, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.
The sons of Judah: Er and Onan and Shelah and Perez and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
Now as for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died, to my sorrow, in the land of Canaan on the journey, when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath; and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).”
So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, “Your father charged before he died, saying,
So Joseph died at the age of one hundred and ten years; and he was embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt.
Joseph died, and all his brothers and all that generation.
Now it came about in the course of those many days that the king of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry for help because of their bondage rose up to God.
The fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile became foul, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt.
The Lord did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, the courts, and the fields.
So the Lord did this thing on the next day, and all the livestock of Egypt died; but of the livestock of the sons of Israel, not one died.
The sons of Israel said to them, “Would that we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
And fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.
Now the Lord spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they had approached the presence of the Lord and died.
But Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord when they offered strange fire before the Lord in the wilderness of Sinai; and they had no children. So Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests in the lifetime of their father Aaron.
The people therefore cried out to Moses, and Moses prayed to the Lord and the fire died out.
All the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron; and the whole congregation said to them, “Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness!
even those men who brought out the very bad report of the land died by a plague before the Lord.
But those who died by the plague were 14,700, besides those who died on account of Korah.
Anyone who touches a corpse, the body of a man who has died, and does not purify himself, defiles the tabernacle of the Lord; and that person shall be cut off from Israel. Because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is still on him.
Also, anyone who in the open field touches one who has been slain with a sword or who has died naturally, or a human bone or a grave, shall be unclean for seven days.
Then the sons of Israel, the whole congregation, came to the wilderness of Zin in the first month; and the people stayed at Kadesh. Now Miriam died there and was buried there.
After Moses had stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on his son Eleazar, Aaron died there on the mountain top. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.
When all the congregation saw that Aaron had died, all the house of Israel wept for Aaron thirty days.
The Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died.
and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up along with Korah, when that company died, when the fire devoured 250 men, so that they became a warning.
The sons of Judah were Er and Onan, but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
But Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before the Lord.
“Our father died in the wilderness, yet he was not among the company of those who gathered themselves together against the Lord in the company of Korah; but he died in his own sin, and he had no sons.
Then Aaron the priest went up to Mount Hor at the command of the Lord, and died there in the fortieth year after the sons of Israel had come from the land of Egypt, on the first day in the fifth month.
Aaron was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.
‘But if he struck him down with an iron object, so that he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.
If he struck him down with a stone in the hand, by which he will die, and as a result he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Or if he struck him with a wooden object in the hand, by which he might die, and as a result he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.
If he pushed him of hatred, or threw something at him lying in wait and as a result he died,
or if he struck him down with his hand in enmity, and as a result he died, the one who struck him shall surely be put to death, he is a murderer; the blood avenger shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
or with any deadly object of stone, and without seeing it dropped on him so that he died, while he was not his enemy nor seeking his injury,
(Now the sons of Israel set out from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died and there he was buried and Eleazar his son ministered as priest in his place.
Then die on the mountain where you ascend, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,
So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.
Although Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye was not dim, nor his vigor abated.
This is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: all the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, died in the wilderness along the way after they came out of Egypt.
As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth-horon, the Lord threw large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died; there were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the sons of Israel killed with the sword.
It came about after these things that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being one hundred and ten years old.
And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him at Gibeah of Phinehas his son, which was given him in the hill country of Ephraim.
Adoni-bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and their big toes cut off used to gather up scraps under my table; as I have done, so God has repaid me.” So they brought him to Jerusalem and he died there.
Then Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of one hundred and ten.
But it came about when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their stubborn ways.
I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died,
Then the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
Then the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, after Ehud died.
But Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and seized a hammer in her hand, and went secretly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went through into the ground; for he was sound asleep and exhausted. So he died.
And Gideon the son of Joash died at a ripe old age and was buried in the tomb of his father Joash, in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
All the people also cut down each one his branch and followed Abimelech, and put them on the inner chamber and set the inner chamber on fire over those inside, so that all the men of the tower of Shechem also died, about a thousand men and women.
Then he called quickly to the young man, his armor bearer, and said to him, “Draw your sword and kill me, so that it will not be said of me, ‘A woman slew him.’” So the young man pierced him through, and he died.
Now after Abimelech died, Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, arose to save Israel; and he lived in Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim.
He judged Israel twenty-three years. Then he died and was buried in Shamir.
Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then Jephthah the Gileadite died and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
Then Elon the Zebulunite died and was buried at Aijalon in the land of Zebulun.
Then Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died and was buried at Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the hill country of the Amalekites.
But the men of Gibeah rose up against me and surrounded the house at night because of me. They intended to kill me; instead, they ravished my concubine so that she died.
Then Elimelech, Naomi’s husband, died; and she was left with her two sons.
Then both Mahlon and Chilion also died, and the woman was bereft of her two children and her husband.
And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.
When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell off the seat backward beside the gate, and his neck was broken and he died, for he was old and heavy. Thus he judged Israel forty years.
Now his daughter-in-law, Phinehas’s wife, was pregnant and about to give birth; and when she heard the news that the ark of God was taken and that her father-in-law and her husband had died, she kneeled down and gave birth, for her pains came upon her.
Then Samuel died; and all Israel gathered together and mourned for him, and buried him at his house in Ramah. And David arose and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
But in the morning, when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these things, and his heart died within him so that he became as a stone.
About ten days later, the Lord struck Nabal and he died.
When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword and died with him.
Thus Saul died with his three sons, his armor bearer, and all his men on that day together.
And David called one of the young men and said, “Go, cut him down.” So he struck him and he died.
