'Govern' in the Bible

But their demand displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge and rule over us.” So Samuel prayed to the Lord.

so that we too may be like all the nations [around us], that our king may judge [and govern] us and go out before us and fight our battles.”

Jezebel his wife said to him, “Do you now reign over Israel? Get up, eat food, and let your heart rejoice; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”

Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the Lord;For He comes to judge and govern the earth.

“Shall one who hates justice [and is an enemy of right] govern?And will you condemn Him who is just and mighty?

May he judge Your people with righteousness,And Your afflicted with justice.

Before the Lord, for He is coming,For He is coming to judge the earth.He will judge the world with righteousnessAnd the peoples in His faithfulness.
