'Hardened' in the Bible

He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;

He regards iron like straw, and hardened bronze like a dead tree.
