'Outcry' in the Bible
Upon this, with a loud outcry they stopped their ears, rushed upon Stephen in a body,
The crowd, too, joined in the outcry against them, till at length the praetors ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods;
But the Jews, being moved with envy, took with them certain low persons from among the common people, and getting together a great number of people, made an outcry in the town, attacking the house of Jason with the purpose of taking them out to the people.
And about that time a great outcry took place about the Way.
But when they recognized that he was a Jew, a single outcry arose from them all as they shouted for about two hours, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”
