'Pray' in the Bible
But I say to you, love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you,
"Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.
But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
When you pray, do not babble repetitiously like the Gentiles, because they think that by their many words they will be heard.
So pray this way: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored,
And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.
Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. But the disciples scolded those who brought them.
Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."
Stay awake and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
