'Thrive' in the Bible
The righteous thrive like a palm treeand grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of the Lord,they thrive in the courts of our God.
When the righteous thrive, a city rejoices,and when the wicked die, there is joyful shouting.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous thrive.
When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
I made you thrive like plants of the field. You grew up and matured and became very beautiful. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, but you were stark naked.
Say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Will it thrive? Will he not pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, so that it withers—so that all its sprouting leaves wither? And neither by great strength nor by many people can it be raised from its roots again.
Behold, though it is planted, will it thrive? Will it not completely wither as soon as the east wind strikes it—wither on the beds where it grew?”’”
Then all the trees of the field will knowthat I am Yahweh.I bring down the tall tree,and make the low tree tall.I cause the green tree to witherand make the withered tree thrive.I, Yahweh, have spokenand I will do it.
It will support all kinds of living creatures that will thrive abundantly wherever the river flows. There will be a great many fish, because this water will flow there and turn the salt water fresh. As a result, everything will live wherever the river flows.
For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men thrive, and new wine the virgins.
