'Tumult' in the Bible

Why are nations in tumult, and countries plotting in vain?

He brought me up out of a horrible pit [of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay,And He set my feet upon a rock, steadying my footsteps and establishing my path.

Though its waters roar and foam,Though the mountains tremble at its roaring. Selah.

Hidest me from the secret counsel of evil doers, From the tumult of workers of iniquity.

Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
