'High Priest' in the Bible

And the high priest among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes.

Now speak to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,

Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, says Jehovah. And be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong all people of the land, says Jehovah, and work; for I am with you, says Jehovah of Hosts

And take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

Then the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, assembled together to the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.

And, behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and he struck a servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.

And they who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had assembled.

But Peter followed Him afar off to the high priest's court, and he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

And standing up, the high priest said to Him, Do you answer nothing? What is it that these witness against you?

But Jesus was silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.

Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.

And as Peter was below in the palace, one of the servant women of the high priest came.

Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests-- the Word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.

And laying hold on Him, they led Him away and brought Him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.

And one of them, Caiaphas, being the high priest of that year, said to them, You do not know anything at all,

And he did not speak this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation;

Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant and cut off his right ear. And the servant's name was Malchus.

And they led Him away to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was the high priest that year.

And Simon Peter and another disciple followed Jesus. That disciple was known to the high priest, and he went in with Jesus into the court of the high priest.

But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple went out, the one who was known to the high priest, and spoke to her who kept the door and brought Peter in.

Then the high priest asked Jesus of His disciples and of His teaching.

And when He had spoken this way, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest so?

Then Annas had sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

One of the servants of the high priest, being kinsman to him whose ear Peter cut off, said, Did I not see you in the garden with him?

and Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest.

And hearing, they went into the temple about dawn, and taught. But the high priest came, and those with him. And they called the sanhedrin together, and all the elderhood of the sons of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

And when the high priest and the temple commander and the chief priests heard these things, they were bewildered about them, what this might be.

And bringing them, they stood in the sanhedrin. And the high priest asked them,

And Saul, still breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
