So they went and found the colt outside in the street tied up next to a doorway. While they were untying it,
and said to him, "What authority have you for doing as you do? And who gave you a right to do as you are doing?"
He began to speak to them in parables. "A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the winepress, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country.
These men came to him and said: "Teacher, we know that you are an honest man, and are not afraid of any one, for you pay no regard to a man's position, but teach the Way of God honestly; are we right in paying taxes to the Emperor, or not?
But there came one poor widow and dropped in two farthings, equal in value to a halfpenny.
Truly, I say to you, This generation will not come to an end till all these things are complete.
Heaven and earth will come to an end, but my words will not come to an end.
And he will take you up himself to a great room with a table and seats: there make ready for us.
And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

then one of the soldiers ran and dipp'd a spunge in vinegar, which he fastned to a stick, and offered him to drink. now let us, said they, see whether Elias will come to take him down.
who taking down the body, wrapped it in a fine linnen cloth, which he had bought, and laid it in a sepulchre, which was hewn out of a rock, and roll'd a stone for a door to the sepulchre: and Mary Magdalene,
But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid Zacharias, for your earnest prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will give birth to a son and you will name him John.
In the mean time the people were waiting for Zacharias, and wonder'd at his tarrying so long in the temple.
And it happened that when the days of his service came to an end, he went away to his home.
But in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent of God to a city of Galilee, of which the name was Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
Mary was surpriz'd at the voice of such an appearance, and wonder'd what the meaning of this salutation should be.
Listen carefully: you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.
And your relative, Elizabeth, although she is old, is going to give birth to a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was said to be barren.
And Mary, rising up in those days, went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah,
But the time was fulfilled for Elizabeth that she should bring forth, and she gave birth to a son.
To give light to those sitting in darkness and death-shade, To guide our feet to a way of peace.'
for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ the Lord.
And when the necessary days for making them clean by the law of Moses had come to an end, they took him to Jerusalem to give him to the Lord
And when the days of the feast came to an end and they were going back, the boy Jesus was still in Jerusalem, but they had no knowledge of it:

'And he who heard and did not, is like to a man having builded a house upon the earth, without a foundation, against which the stream brake forth, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house became great.'
When Jesus had brought to a conclusion all that he had then had to say to the people, he entered Capernaum.
For I too am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under my command.
And it came to pass soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Nain; and his disciples went with him, and a great multitude.

'Two debtors were to a certain creditor; the one was owing five hundred denaries, and the other fifty;
No man sets light to a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or puts it underneath a couch, but he puts it on a lamp-stand, so that anyone who comes in may see the light.
Then they came to him and, awaking him out of his sleep, said, Master, Master, destruction is near. And he, when he was awake, gave orders to the wind and the rolling waves, and the storm came to an end, and all was calm.
Now Herod the tetrarch was inform'd of all his transactions: and was perplex'd at the relation of some, that John was risen from the dead: whilst others said, Elias appear'd:
And the apostles, when they were returned, declared unto him what things they had done. And he took them, and withdrew apart to a city called Bethsaida.
As the day was drawing to a close, the Twelve came to him and said, "Send the crowd away to the neighboring villages and farms so they can rest and get some food, because we are here in a deserted place."
For there were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them be seated in groups, about fifty to a group.
Why, what benefit is it to a man to have gained the whole world, but to have lost or forfeited his own self.
About eight days after these discourses, He took Peter, and John, and James, and went up to a mountain to pray.
And it chanced on the next day, as they came down from the hill, much people came and met him.

Now, while he was talking, a Pharisee made a request that he would come to a meal with him; and he went in and took his seat at the meal.
If then you are not even able [to do] a very little thing, why are you anxious about the rest?
Blessed are those servants, whom their Master when He comes shall find on the watch. I tell you in solemn truth, that He will tie an apron round Him, and will bid them recline at table while He comes and waits on them.
And the servant who had knowledge of his lord's desires and was not ready for him and did not do as he was ordered, will be given a great number of blows;
For as you are going with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to come to a settlement with him on the way, so that he will not drag you to the judge, and the judge will hand you over to the bailiff, and the bailiff will throw you into prison.
I say to you, It is not so: but if your hearts are not changed, you will all come to an end in the same way.
and behold, there was a woman who had been subject to a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent down, and was not able to lift herself up at all.
It is like to a grain of mustard, which a man having taken, did cast into his garden, and it increased, and came to a great tree, and the fowls of the heavens did rest in its branches.'
When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
But when you are invited, go and take the least important place, so that when your host approaches he will say to you, 'Friend, move up here to a better place.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all who share the meal with you.
and you shall be happy in not receiving a requital: for you shall be recompenc'd at the resurrection of the just.
And he said to them, A certain man gave a great feast, and sent word of it to a number of people.
'And not many days after, having gathered all together, the younger son went abroad to a far country, and there he scattered his substance, living riotously;
And when he had spent all, there happen'd a grievous famine in that country, and he began to be in want.
And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
how many years have I serv'd you, without having ever disobey'd your orders? and yet you never bestow'd a kid upon me, to make merry with my friends:
I have come to a decision what to do, so that when I am put out of my position they will take me into their houses.
