But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things,



And I want you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord.



The sovereign master will give you distress to eat and suffering to drink; but your teachers will no longer be hidden; your eyes will see them.


Say, 'This is what the king says, "Put this man in prison. Give him only a little bread and water until I safely return."'"

They will not pour out drink offerings of wine to the Lord; they will not please him with their sacrifices. Their sacrifices will be like bread eaten while in mourning; all those who eat them will make themselves ritually unclean. For their bread will be only to satisfy their appetite; it will not come into the temple of the Lord.

then he promises, "I will send rain for your land in its season, the autumn and the spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine, and olive oil.

Then God said, "I now give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the entire earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

You must remember the Lord your God, for he is the one who gives ability to get wealth; if you do this he will confirm his covenant that he made by oath to your ancestors, even as he has to this day.


to the one who gives food to all living things, for his loyal love endures.

Everything looks to you in anticipation, and you provide them with food on a regular basis.

Citizens of Zion, rejoice! Be glad because of what the Lord your God has done! For he has given to you the early rains as vindication. He has sent to you the rains -- both the early and the late rains as formerly.

A song of ascents, by Solomon. If the Lord does not build a house, then those who build it work in vain. If the Lord does not guard a city, then the watchman stands guard in vain. It is vain for you to rise early, come home late, and work so hard for your food. Yes, he can provide for those whom he loves even when they sleep.

Surely people go through life as mere ghosts. Surely they accumulate worthless wealth without knowing who will eventually haul it away."
