and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as to sons: My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him. For, whom the Lord loves, he chastens, and scourges every son that he receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons: for what son is there whose father chastens him not?

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous, therefore, and repent.

And he went forward a little, and fell on his face in prayer, saying: My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not as I will, but as thou willest.

and he said: Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee; let this cup pass from me: but not what I will, but what thou wiliest.

saying: Father, if thou art willing that this cup should pass from me yet, not my will, but thine be done.

And we know that all things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
