Jesus answered, I tell thee, except a man be renewed by the spiritual baptism, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
he that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water. (but this he meant of the spirit, which they that believed on him, should receive: for the spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)
let us draw near with sincerity, in full assurance of faith, having our consciences purified from guilt, and our bodies washed with pure water.

but the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, sweetness of disposition, beneficence, faithfulness, meekness, temperance:
but when he, the spirit of truth shall come, he will inform you of all those truths: for he will not speak from himself; but the information he shall receive will he communicate: and acquaint you with what is to come.
Wherefore as the holy spirit saith, "since to-day you hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as at Meriba and Massa in the desart: where your fathers provoked me to give proofs of my power forty years, tho' they saw my works.read more.

but as we lay aside the veil, the divine light gradually informs the mind, according as we attend to that spiritual sense, which points out the Lord.
by whom you also have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: and having believed in him, ye were mark'd with the seal of the holy spirit, which was promised: and this is the pledge of our inheritance, being given for the deliverance of his peculiar people, to the display of his glory.
grieve not the holy spirit of God, by whom you are sealed against the day of deliverance:
work not for the food which perisheth, but for that which endureth unto everlasting life, and which the son of man shall give unto you, for to him it is that the father, that is God, has given his credentials.
