Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.
Then he opened their minds, so they could understand the Scriptures. And he said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things concerning himself in all the scriptures.
Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand the things freely given to us by God. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
When you read this, you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming!" But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?
Now some of the scribes were sitting there, reasoning in their hearts, "Why does this man speak like this? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" And immediately, when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, he said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts?
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
Jesus said to them, "Is not this why you are wrong, that you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God?
Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? Or the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you about bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Being aware of it, Jesus said to them, "Why do you discuss the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They said to him, "Twelve."read more.
"And when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of pieces did you take up?" And they said, "Seven." He said to them, "Do you not yet understand?"
Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him saying, "Never, Lord! This shall never happen to you!"
He spoke plainly about this. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
And he said to them, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?
So she ran, and came to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him."
