Blessed be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior, to give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.
Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you see and hear.

so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
But rejoice that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with fire, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy lives and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by fire, and the elements will melt with intense heat!read more.
But according to his promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
And Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Repent therefore, and turn again, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Of him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."
And opening his mouth, Peter said: "I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,
After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "Brethren, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he also did to us; and he made no distinction between us and them, but cleansed their hearts by faith.
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen exiles in the Dispersion, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,
With the help of Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.
Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the supreme authority, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right.
and keep a clear conscience, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.read more.
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a wrongdoer, or a troublesome meddler; yet if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but under that name let him glorify God.
