Thou shalt not bow down to them nor serve them; for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons unto the third and fourth generation of those that hate me and showing mercy unto thousands of generations of those that love me and keep my commandments.

Not defending yourselves, dearly beloved; but rather give place unto the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

For we know who he is that has said, Vengeance belongs to me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

Vengeance and recompense are mine, in the time when their foot shall slide; for the day of their calamity is at hand and that which is determined upon them makes haste.

And the LORD answered unto Moses, Whoever has sinned against me, this one will I blot out of my book. Therefore go now, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee; behold, my Angel shall go before thee; nevertheless in the day of my visitation I will visit their sin in them.

And if ye will not be corrected by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me, then will I also walk contrary unto you and will punish you yet seven times for your sins. And I will bring an avenging sword upon you, in vindication of the covenant; and ye shall gather together within your cities; but I will send pestilence among you, and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

Know, therefore, that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and mercy with those that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations and repays him that hates him to his face, to destroy him; he will not be slack to him that hates him; he will repay him to his face.

if I whet the resplendence of my sword and my hand takes hold on judgment, I will render vengeance to my enemies and will recompense those that hate me. I will make my arrows drunk with blood and my sword shall devour flesh, in the blood of the slain and of the captives of the heads, in revenge as an enemy. Rejoice, O ye Gentiles, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his slaves and will render vengeance to his enemies and will reconcile his land, to his people.

For he shall pay man according to his work and cause every man to find according to his ways.

if thou should say, Behold, we knew it not; shall not he that weighs the hearts understand it? and he that keeps thy soul, does he not know it? and shall he not render to every man according to his works?

Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of the hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease myself of my adversaries and avenge myself of my enemies;

God is jealous, and the LORD avenges; the LORD avenges and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserves wrath for his enemies.

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked and that the righteous should be treated as the wicked that are far from thee. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

Because I will invoke the name of the LORD, ascribe ye greatness unto our God. The strong One, whose work is perfect: for all his ways are right; a God of truth and without iniquity, just and upright is he.

And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had confirmed the kingdom and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. And it came to pass that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem, because they had rebelled against the LORD, with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen; and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt: the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.read more.
And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah and came to Jerusalem. Then Shemaiah, the prophet, went to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus hath the LORD said, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore, I have also left you in the hand of Shishak. And the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.

The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a God that judges in the earth.

How shall I pardon thee for this? Thy sons have forsaken me and sworn by them that are not gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses. They were as fed horses in the morning; each one neighed after his neighbour's wife. Shall I not visit for these things? said the LORD; and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

My people were cut off because they lacked wisdom; because thou hast rejected wisdom, I will cast thee out of the priesthood; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy sons.

He made a pit and deepened it and shall fall into the ditch which he made. His work shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

He The wicked have drawn out the sword and have bent their bow to cast down the poor and needy and to slay such as are of upright conversation. Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bow shall be broken.

And they lay in wait for their own blood; they ambush their own souls.

Whosoever digs a pit shall fall therein, and he that rolls a stone, it will return upon him.

Whosoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit, but the perfect shall inherit every good thing.

Do not deceive yourselves; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that sows in the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.

Whoever sheds man's blood in man, his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God is man made.

And if there is death, then thou shalt pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

for he is a minister of God for thy good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain, for he is a minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil.

Likewise he that kills any man shall surely be put to death. And he that kills an animal shall make it good: animal for animal. And if a man causes a blemish in his neighbour; as he has done, so shall it be done to him;read more.

He that kills an animal shall restore it, but he that kills a man shall be put to death. Ye shall have one manner of law: as for the stranger, so shall it be for the natural; for I am the LORD your God.

And if he smites him with an instrument of iron so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. And if he smites him by throwing a stone with which he may die, and he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. Or if he smites him with a hand weapon of wood with which he may die, and he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.read more.
The kinsman avenger of blood shall slay the murderer; when he meets him, he shall slay him. But if he thrusts him out of hatred or hurls at him by laying in wait, so that he dies or out of enmity smites him with his hand so that he dies, he that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer; the kinsman avenger of blood shall slay the murderer when he meets him. and unto governors as unto those that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those that do well.

Do not say, I will do unto him as he has done unto me; I will render to the man according to his work.

Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth; but I say unto you, That ye resist not with evil, but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Give them according to their deeds and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render unto them their desert.

seeing it is a just thing with God to recompense tribulation to those that trouble you and to give you, who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with the angels of his power, with flaming fire, to take vengeance on those that do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,read more.

Why should the Gentiles say, Where is their God? let him be known among the Gentiles in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy slaves which is shed.

O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongs; O God, to whom vengeance belongs, show thyself. Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewards thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that takes and dashes thy offspring against the stones.

And will the land not vomit you out also for having contaminated it, as it vomited out the Gentiles that were before you?

Because thou didst not serve the LORD thy God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; therefore, thou shalt serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger and in thirst and in nakedness and in lack of all things; and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck until he has destroyed thee.

Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, For your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, who have burned incense upon the mountains and blasphemed me upon the hills; therefore, I will measure their former work into their bosom.

A voice of noise from the city, a voice of the temple, a voice of the LORD that renders recompense to his enemies.

Therefore, as I live, said the Lord GOD, surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy contaminations and with all thine abominations, therefore I will also destroy thee; neither shall my eye forgive, neither will I have mercy.
