and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draweth nigh: repent, and believe the gospel.

Then Jesus hearing it, addressed him, saying, Fear not, only believe, and she shall be saved.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world by him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is already under condemnation, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptised every one of you into the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off; even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Beware that ye reject not him that speaketh: for if they escaped not, who rejected him, that upon earth spake by divine influence, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him who speaks from heaven:

Whom approaching, as the living stone, rejected indeed of men, but elect of God, and honourable, ye also, as living stones, are built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices, well pleasing to God through Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, "Behold, I lay in Sion a cornerstone, elect, precious, and the believer on him shall never be confounded."read more.
By you therefore who believe is he honoured: but respecting the disobedient, "the stone which the builders rejected, this very stone is become the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and rock of offence," to those who stumble at the word, disobedient; whereunto also they were appointed.

He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the testimony in himself; he that believeth not God, hath made him a liar, because he hath not believed on the testimony which God testified of his Son.
