But Peter answered and said to Him, though they should all be offended in thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus said unto him, Verily I tell thee that this night, before the cock crow, thou wilt deny me thrice. Peter replied, though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. And so likewise said all the disciples.

But Peter said to Him, though all should be made to offend, yet will not I. And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I tell thee, that to day, even in this very night, before the cock crow twice thou wilt deny me thrice. But he said with the more vehemence, Though I should die with thee, I will never disown thee. And so likewise said they all.

And when they were come to the place which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him and the malefactors: one on his right hand and the other on his left. And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his garments, and cast lots for them.

Peter saith unto Him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thee. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily verily I tell thee, The cock shall not crow till thou hast denied me thrice.

And he said unto Him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both to prison and to death. But He replied, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before thou hast thrice denied that thou knowest me.

But there was before in the city a man named Simon practising magic and bewitching the people of Samaria, giving out that he was some great person.

But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou a wild-olive wert grafted in among them, and art made a partaker together with them of the root and fatness of the olive; boast not against the branches: and if thou boastest, remember thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

And are ye puffed up, and have not rather grieved? that he who hath committed this fact might be expelled from among you?

And when I was returned to Jerusalem, and was praying in the temple, I was in a trance. And I saw Him saying unto me, Make haste and go quickly out of Jerusalem; for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me. And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and scourged in the synagogues them that believed on Thee. And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also stood by and consented to his death, and kept the clothes of them that slew him. But he said unto me, Go away; for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.---

To boast indeed does not become me: but I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove yourselves: do ye not know yourselves to be such that Jesus Christ is in you? unless ye are reprovable. But I hope ye will soon know that we are not disapproved.

For ye have heard of my conversation formerly in Judaism, that I outragiously persecuted the church of God, and laid it waste: and I made a proficiency in Judaism above many of the same age with me in my own nation, being excessively zealous for the traditions of my fathers. But let every one try his own work, and then he will have matter of glorying in himself alone, and not in another.

For though I should boast yet more of our authority, (which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction) I should not be ashamed:

But we will not glory of things beyond our bounds, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath given to us, a measure to come even unto you. For we do not stretch ourselves beyond measure, as though we were not commissioned to come unto you; for we have reached even to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ. Not boasting of things beyond our limits in other men's labors; but having hope that, when your faith is increased, we shall be abundantly enlarged by you according to our line,read more.

But on the contrary, seeing that I was intrusted with the gospel of uncircumcision, as Peter was with that of the circumcision;

Serving the Lord with all humility, and many tears, and trials which befel me by the ambushes of the Jews.

For by the grace conferred on me I charge every one among you, not to think of himself above what he ought to think: but to think with sobriety, according as God hath divided to every man the measure of faith.

And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know in what manner I behaved among you all the time, from the first day that I came into Asia.

But I have availed myself of none of these things. Nor have I written these things, that it might be so done as to me: for it were better for me to die, than that any one should make this my glorying void. For if I preach the gospel, yet I have no ground for boasting; because I am under necessity to do it: and wo is me if I do not preach the Gospel. Now if I do this willingly, I have a reward; and if unwillingly, yet I am intrusted with the commission, and I must execute it.read more.
What is my reward then but this? that when I preach I may make the gospel of Christ not expensive, that so I may not abuse my power in the gospel.

For this is our rejoicing, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and pious sincerity, not with carnal wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and especially towards you.

Who is infirm, and I am not infirm also? who is offended, and I am not inflamed? If I must boast, I will boast of the things which relate to my infirmity.

I speak of their reproaches, as if we were weak: but whereinsoever any one may be confident (though I speak foolishly) I may be confident too. Are they Hebrews? so am I: are they Israelites? so am I: are they the seed of Abraham? so am I: are they ministers of Christ? (if I may speak as a fool) I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes far exceeding, in prisons more frequently, and often even in deaths.read more.

And He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answered and saith, Thou art the Christ.

And He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answered and said, The Christ the Son of God. But He strictly charged and commanded them to tell this to no one,

And the high priest stood up and said to Him, Dost thou make no answer? what do these men testify against thee? but Jesus made no reply. Then the high priest said to Him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us, if thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, It is as thou hast said: and I tell you, hereafter ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

Ye call me, Master, and Lord; and ye say well; for so I am.

but God hath chosen things that are foolish in the eye of the world to put it's wise men to confusion; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty; and things in the opinion of the world ignoble, and despicable, and accounted as nothing, hath God chosen, to abolish things that are in esteem among men; that no flesh may glory in his presence.read more.
But ye are of Him in Christ Jesus, who from God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: that, as it is written, He that glorieth may glory in the Lord.
