And every one that enters the lists is temperate in all things: they indeed do it that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible one. and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and to put on the new man, which according to the image of God is created in righteousness, and true holiness.

not that I have yet won the prize, or am already perfect: but I press forward to acquire that perfection, for which also I have been apprehended by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have attained it: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to those before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

And not only so, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation worketh patience, and patience experience, and experience hope, and this hope maketh us not ashamed; because the love of God is diffused in our hearts by the holy Spirit that is given to us.

For by the grace conferred on me I charge every one among you, not to think of himself above what he ought to think: but to think with sobriety, according as God hath divided to every man the measure of faith.

So the tongue is a small part of the body, yet boasteth great things. Behold how much fuel a little fire kindleth! Do not for the sake of meat destroy thy brother who is the work of God: all things indeed are pure; but to the man that eateth with offence it is evil. It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do any thing at which thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or weakened.

Let no one deprive you of your reward by an affected humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into what he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his carnal mind;

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of boasting? are not ye also among others in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

As to what remains, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me in that day: and not to me only, but also to all those who have longed for his appearance.

Happy is the man who sustaineth temptation; for being approved he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

And when the sovereign Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive an unfading crown of glory.

Fear none of the things which thou wilt suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall suffer affliction ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Behold, I come quickly; hold fast what thou hast, that no one may take thy crown.
